Percentage of People with and without Disabilities Who Work From Home: Age 16 and Above, 2015

Some people who are employed work primarily from home. We identified and compared the percentage of people age 16 and above with and without disabilities living in the community who work from home. This measure allows us to see that a slightly higher percentage of people with disabilities work from home (US Average is 5.5% with a range of 3.0% in Mississippi to 8.2% in Montana) than are people without disabilities (US average is 4.5% with a range of 2.1% in Mississippi to 7.0% in Colorado). Although working from home may be an important reasonable accommodation for some people with disabilities, these numbers suggest there is not a very larger difference between the percentage of people with and without disability that work from home.
