Percentage of Total Population Receiving SSI, 2016

We used the Technical Assistance Cooperative, "Priced Out in 2017" data and 2016 ACS 1-Year estimates to identify the percent of SSI recipients of people living in the community. This measure allows us to see that across the country, the lowest percentage of the population receiving SSI is in Utah (1.2%) and the highest percentage is in West Virginia (4.9%). This measure is important as it indicates the percentage of the population that live on limited financial resources.
