Percentage of People with an Independent Living Disability Color coded map of the United States.  States have been grouped into four quartile ranges. The first quartile ranges from 2.9% to 3.8% and includes the states Alaska, Colorado, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota, Utah & Wyoming.  The second quartile ranges from 3.9% to 4.2% and includes the states Arizona, California, Connecticut, Washington DC, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nevada, Texas, Virginia & Wisconsin.  The third quartile ranges from 4.3% to 4.8% and includes the states Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, United States, Vermont & Washington.  The fourth quartile ranges from 4.9% to 7.1% and includes the states Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee & West Virginia.
