Percentage of People with a Hearing Disability Color coded map of the United States.  States have been grouped into four quartile ranges. The first quartile ranges from 2.0% to 3.3% and includes the states California, Connecticut, Washington DC, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Utah & Virginia.  The second quartile ranges from 3.4% to 3.8% and includes the states Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa, Minnesota, North Carolina, North Dakota, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, United States & Wisconsin.  The third quartile ranges from 3.9% to 4.2% and includes the states Alaska, Arizona, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, South Carolina, Tennessee & Washington.  The fourth quartile ranges from 4.3% to 6.2% and includes the states Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Maine, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia & Wyoming.
