Percentage of Total Population with Disabilities Color coded map of the United States.  States have been grouped into four quartile ranges. The first quartile ranges from 9.6% to 11.2% and includes the states California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York & Utah.  The second quartile ranges from 11.3% to 12.5% and includes the states Alaska, Washington DC, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Texas, United States, Virginia & Wisconsin.  The third quartile ranges from 12.6% to 14.3% and includes the states Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Michigan, Montana, North Carolina, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington & Wyoming.  The fourth quartile ranges from 14.4% to 19.5% and includes the states Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Missouri, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee & West Virginia.
